Mazda CX-5

Model Years Produced: 2017 to Current

“Premium” if not quite “luxury,” and easily one of the most engaging SUVs to drive on the market. The turbo engine became optional beginning in 2019, 2020 models received an updated infotainment system, and 2022 models will have AWD as standard.

Verdict

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Quiet
  • Great handling
  • Nice interior, especially on the upper trim levels
  • Excellent standard safety features (smart cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert)

Cons

  • Weird infotainment
  • Interior space isn’t great compared to competition
