Land Rover
Land Rover as a company has had a tumultuous history. Originally founded as an offshoot of Rover, a British car manufacturer, British Leyland later acquired them in 1967. After British Leyland collapsed and became nationalized in 1975, they split Land Rover off into their own company…only for Land Rover to become a subsidiary of them once again in 1978. In 1988, British Aerospace took over British Leyland, now known as Rover Group, and thus took ownership of the Land Rover brand. British Aerospace then sold Land Rover to BMW in 1994, who sold them to Ford in 2000, who sold them to Indian company Tata in 2008. They have remained under Tata ownership since then.
